When a parent's health changes, when you want your wishes in writing, when you're buying or selling a home, when a marriage is ending or when your family is growing, you need someone who will listen, explain things plainly and see it through with you. That has been my work for 31 years.

How I can help

Four kinds of work, done carefully

Planning for you or a parent?

Estate planning documents

Put your wishes in writing, so the people you love know what to do and have the authority to do it.

  • Wills
  • Living Wills
  • Living Wills for the advanced stages of Alzheimer's or dementia
  • Health Care Proxies
  • Powers of Attorney

These documents have to be signed while you can still understand them and make your own decisions. If you or a parent has a new diagnosis, call sooner rather than later.

About estate planning documents

Filing for divorce on your own?

Uncontested divorces

Many people file for an uncontested divorce on their own. Without a Settlement and Opting-Out Agreement written for your situation, a New York divorce can later be overturned for good cause shown.

I'll draft your agreement carefully and guide you through every step of a hard, emotional time.

About uncontested divorces

Buying or selling a home?

Real estate closings

Residential closings for buyers and sellers: land only, homes, duplexes and more.

I review your contract and closing documents, work through any title issues, and keep you informed at every stage so you're not left waiting among the boxes.

About real estate closings

Growing your family?

Adoptions

Adoption is one of the happiest areas of family law. I'll confirm whether you qualify, explain each step, file the documents and represent you in court.

You focus on the newest addition to your family. I'll handle the legal side.

What to expect

How it works

  1. Call me

You'll reach me directly at 315-664-4458. If I'm with a client, leave a message and I'll call you back promptly. Your first 10 minutes are free.

  2. We talk it through

Tell me what's going on, whether it's planning ahead, a parent's health or the end of a marriage. I'll walk you through your options in plain language. My rates are reasonable, and I'll explain the fee for your situation before we begin.

  3. We meet where it suits you

Over a cup of coffee nearby, by phone or on Zoom.

  4. I prepare your documents

Everything is written for your situation, not filled in from a template. I'll go over each page with you so you know exactly what you're signing.

  5. We finish together

For wills and other planning documents, we sign with the witnesses the law requires, and you take your original will home. I keep a copy on file. For an uncontested divorce, I prepare your paperwork and guide you through each step until your divorce is final.

I'm a call, text or email away the whole time.
